Two Small Lab School/Demonstration Sites

TO KNOW    |    TO DREAM    |    TO RISE

School logo PFFS-University was opened on University Blvd near the University of Arizona in Tucson in fall 2005 - as a demonstration site/laboratory school for best practices in middle school instruction and small school design. PFFS-Downtown opened in downtown Tucson in August 2014 as a full-immersion STEM middle school. At the end of the 2015-2016 school year, El Pueblo Integral surrendered the charters for PFFS-Downtown and PFFS-University to the Arizona State Board for Charter School (ASBCS) so that  CITY Center for Collaborative Learning could begin operating the these two schools along with City High School as three public school, demonstration learning environments. "Education either functions as an instrument which is used to
facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic
of the present system and bring about conformity
or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which
men and women deal critically and creatively with reality
and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world."
- Paulo Freire (Pedagogy of the Oppressed)
